Team 7 Reborn Ch 6

Naruto’s life was miserable ever since the night Sakura crushed his dreams of standing there next to her holding hands both wearing smiles; A dream of becoming the Hokage and proposing to her, a dream of being her knight in shining armor.

The word ‘miserable’ was actually an understatement of what Naruto was going through. He had actually gone into a deep state of depression and wouldn’t come out of his apartment. Hinata had tried several times to bring him out and into the open but failed miserably every time.

“He didn’t even come out for Ichiraku, Sasuke-kun. It’s getting me worried” Hinata once said while she and Sasuke were sitting upon a small bridge above a sparkling fresh-water river.

Sasuke merely groaned at the sound of Naruto’s name. Why on Earth should he care, of all people?

“Why do you care so much about Naruto ?” he muttered under his breath.

Hinata blushed and leaned forward so her lips were a few inches away from Sasuke’s ear, and she whispered into it, “P-Promise not to tell anyone?”

Sasuke nodded with his eyes closed and awaited her answer. It was something he yearned to know badly because whenever they were alone Hinata never seemed to keep her mind off of the Uzumaki boy.

Hinata cupped her hand around one side of her mouth and whispered in such a small voice that it was barely audible, “I-I love Naruto-kun”

Sasuke’s bored expression changed to an angered one and his Sharingan activated without hesitation. Why would Hinata love somebody like Naruto? Wasn’t he the boy who barely made the rank of genin after failing the exam twice??   It made absoulutely no sense why a person like the bashful Hyuuga-heiress would be in love with the number-one-loud-mouth-knuckle-head-ninja!! Sasuke was better than him in every category there was!

It also angered him, because Sasuke had developed a small crush on Hinata. It was small and insignificant, but it still meant something. It was recently discovered because Sasuke thought about why he got angry every time Hinata talked about helping Naruto or his ex-relationship with Sakura.

Heck, every conversation used to revolve around the ramen-loving blonde.

---(to Kakashi and Sarutobi)---

“Hokage-sama, I can not continue my missions with a member of the team in depression” Kakashi spoke with the usual lazy tone he always gave.

“I know, I know. Naruto liked that Haruno girl, correct?” Sarutobi unfolded his arms and adjusted his pipe.

Kakashi’s hand moved inside his jacket and retrieved a picture of Naruto attempting a kiss with Sakura, who had a look of disgust and fear spread across her face.

The Hokage chuckled a bit and then nodded his head. “She crushed his heart, is what I heard from Miss Yamanaka”

Kakashi shrugged and fumbled around in his jacket for some…entertainment. (Icha Icha Paradise)

“Well, Kakashi. I have no choice but to exclude Naruto from your team until he gets better. Is that alright with you?” Sarutobi wheezed.

Kakashi smirked under his masked and nodded before he continued to search for his favourite perverted book.

“Alright now, dismissed” the Hokage waved his hand for Kakashi to leave, and he did.

---(to Hinata, Sasuke, and Kakashi)---

“What?!”

Kakashi sighed and scratched the back of his head and spoke in a sad tone, “Yeah, well, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Naruto won’t be in our team until he gets better, so it’s just us three”

Hinata looked scared just thinking about going on missions without Naruto while Sasuke smirked. ‘It would do good for the team if he’s gone, anyway. Besides, all he did was brag about Suckura and eat ramen, and….get caught’

“Kakashi-sensei?” Hinata whined with the wet tears on the edge of her eyes. (or on the bottom part of her eyes, but I don’t know what I’m supposed to call them).

Kakashi looked up from his book and let out a grunt waiting for her question.

“Promise me that Naruto-kun will get better?” her eyes were filled with childish hope and sorrow.
